Antique Edwardian Real Italian Shell Cameo Brooch Pin Hand Carved F265

Nicely done cameo, lots of detail. This is a brooch.  Fairly large about 1-3/4 inch tall overall by 1-1/4 wide. The setting is fairly heavy, going to say it is brass. It has an unusual catch on it.   It is a safety catch but a bit different to the ones you are used to. The catch works backwards so you move the lock in the opposite direction then modern bar pins to lock it. The design was really only around from 1890 -1920. Also noted the setting has 4 goldstones set in the rim. Goldstone was used a lot in the Victorian period.  Very much an antique, The shell itself is in excellent condition, Would make a great gift. Comes gift boxed.
