Antique Hand carved Italian Shell Cameo Brooch & Pendant Marked 800 Silver F269

This cameo has what is called a tube hinge pin on it. That would indicate it is from around 1900. It does have a handmade locking clasp. Pin is bent but functional. You probably can bend it straight if it is an issue. The filigree setting is quite tarnished, I originally thought it was brass but the back has a 800 Silver tag on it. This was common silver content used in italy. .800 as opposed to the standard .925 we use today for sterling. I am going to bet this would polish up to bright silver if that was what you wanted to do.   I do not clean/polish these antique pieces as a lot of the time that is what adds to the character. The cameo also has a small ring soldered on the back. You can add a jump ring, split ring or bail and then you could wear it as a pendant. The shell is in good condition I don't see any cracks.  Comes gift boxed.
