For sale is a lamp I found many years ago. I think it is quite unique as I have never come across another. First let me say I am a glass collector. The lamp part was never of any interest to me. You could rewire this if you wanted to. You can see in the photo there is a small bit of the old cloth cord still sticking out near the bottom. This is Czech and we know that because it is marked on the bottom. The color is red and this was done with a reverse painting, so that color is on the inside of the glass. Then the enameling was done by hand on the outside. We see the bird is well done. In in terms of age. I believe cloth cord was last used in 1936. While some electric was around in the late 1800's my guess is this was produced closer to 1930. The lamp is fairly small stands about 10 inches tall. My guess is it was a bed side lamp. Also known as a boudoir lamp. Often these were sold in pairs. The size makes it perfect to display in an art glass or victorian glass collection. Condition: This is in very good shape for its age. I put the glass end of things as close to excellent There is nothing major here at all. There are a couple of little dirt spots here and there. I am really adverse to cleaning this old enamel pieces at all. You can do that if you want but it will arrive as shown in picture.
