Art Glass Millefiori Paperweight Chop Stick Rest Caligrapher's Rest Brush Holder
Ok it is not a paperweight ....but chances are this will be collected by paperweight owners. The story I have read is that they were produced by the Chinese starting around 1930 as chopstick holders. There is also some thought that they were brush holders, pen holders. I do not know. I am leaning towards chopstick holders. This is fairly small, 1.9 inches in diameter. The Chinese have produced enough paperweights...or glass trinkets... for long enough to be worthy of collecting them as one of your sub-categories. Also once you see them you will always know what they are. Plus they don't cost thousands of dollars. Not signed but has "china" scratched into the glass on the bottom. Condition I rate as excellent. I see a micro spec in the center but looks like it was made that way. .
