Antique Silver Italian Shell Cameo Hand Carved Pendant and Brooch F286

This pretty cameo is set in a silver setting. It is not marked but I am quite sure it is sterling. There is a bit of gold rope trim on it also.  Overall size is about 1.25 x 1 inch. This is in such great shape that when I got it I thought it must be fairly modern, but it has a tube hinge on it. As far as I know they stopped using those sometimes in the 1920's. It is hand made though so possibly this was something still being done in a studio.  This is a quality piece. Silver work is excellent and their is a lot of detail on the cameo. This is not fashion jewelry. It has a fold down bail so you can also you can wear it as a pin or a pendant. This is a good size for a pendant. This would make a nice gift. Comes gift boxed.
