40x30mm Clear Vintage German Glass Intaglio Woman Cameo Cabochon J163

This is an Intaglio. The design itself is cut into the glass from the back. This is a clear glass piece. Something to consider with these clear cameos is the possibility of painting the profile from the back, We sell this same cameo where the profile is in gold leaf, no reason you can't colorize the cut in area with a bit of care. The edges of this are faceted and beveled to the front and the back. Quite thick measuring about 9mm. About the same thickness as a gemstone. Not going to work in all settings. Prong settings, deep edge settings and wire wrapping are a good choice.  A vintage piece no longer being produced. Made in Germany,
