This is a portrait of Lady Jane Ellenborough from the Gallery of Beauties which is an exquisite collection of 38 portraits showcasing the most esteemed women from Munich’s nobility and bourgeoisie. Commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria, the portraits were primarily painted between 1827 and 1850 by Joseph Karl Stieler. I happen to currently have a couple cameos with this woman on it. I was doing some more research out of curiosity and I must say she is fascinating. There are complete Bios on her. Here is a little blurb from wiki. Finally found true happiness with a bedouin Arab Sheikh, buried in Damaskus"
