25x18mm Vintage German Glass Intaglio Red Rose Cameo Cabochon J147

This is an Intaglio. The design itself is cut into the glass from the back. This is a clear glass piece so the design is then painted to stand out. The edges of this are faceted and beveled to the front and the back. Quite thick measuring about 5mm. About the same thickness as a gemstone. Not going to work in all settings. Prong settings, bezel settings, open back settings and wire wrapping are a good choice.  A vintage piece no longer being produced. Made in Germany,
