40x30mm German Glass Flat Back Reverse Carved Intaglio Woman's Head Smokey Topaz J174
This is an Intaglio. The design itself is cut into the glass from the back. The edges of this are faceted and beveled from the front and the back. Quite thick measuring about 9mm. About the same thickness as a gemstone. Not going to work in all settings. Prong settings, deep edge settings and wire wrapping are a good choice. A vintage piece no longer being produced. Made in Germany,
