1/20 12K Gold Filled Italian Shell Cameo Brooch Pendant, Spanish Mantilla Lady, Mid-Century F223

This is a smaller cameo measuring a little over an inch tall. It would work really well as a pendant if you lean more to wearing a necklace over a brooch. It has a fold down bail on the back that will allow you to pass a chain directly through it. It also has a pin with a safety clasp on it so it can be worn as a brooch. The Cameo is set in a yellow gold frame stamped 1/20 12K G.F.  The cameo shows a women wearing what appears to be a mantilla (veil) and a peineta (comb). This is a very Spanish influenced design. Spanish woman wear these veils at weddings, religious events, important cultural outings. This cameo is in good shape a bit of patina on the back to be expected. In terms of its age, It is modern perhaps 1950's-1960's Comes gift boxed.
